Client Stories: Women Who Chose Peace, Clarity, and Financial Power

Real stories from women reclaiming their financial voice, one decision at a time.

Every woman who comes to Algu Roots brings her own history, her own dreams, and her own relationship with money. These stories are shared with honesty, courage, and the quiet power of choosing yourself. They are also a reminder that you’re not alone. I am deeply proud of each of these women — without their courage, the Algu Roots system would not exist in the way it does today. Take your time here. You’re entering a space held with care.

"I saved $20,000 in six months — something I never thought was possible.”

When I moved to the U.S. at the end of 2022, everything felt overwhelming. I was new to the country, new to the culture, and, most importantly, I lacked financial literacy. I knew I needed guidance, but I didn’t yet know where to turn.

When I met Tsege and heard her vision to uplift and empower women in her community, we instantly connected. Even in our first casual conversations, I felt a sense of trust. She is intelligent, knowledgeable, and has a unique ability to help you see things from a different perspective. She guides you toward better life choices without ever making you feel judged or inadequate.

Before meeting her, I had purchased a Tesla—something I later realized was not the best financial decision for me at the time. Instead of making me feel regret or shame, Tsege helped me gain clarity. Her first priority was teaching me to let the numbers speak and to make informed, rational decisions. Next, she helped me understand money management without emotional attachment. For the first time in my life, I began thinking in percentages rather than feelings.

She also educated me on the importance of having a high‑yield savings account instead of relying solely on a regular checking account. She helped me shift my mindset so that I began to see my savings as money intentionally set aside for a clear vision and purpose.

Before meeting her, I was unintentionally spending money that I should have been saving. But within just six months of working with her, I was able to save an incredible $20,000. I never thought that was possible for me, but through her consistent, patient, and encouraging guidance, she helped me move closer to my goals—one step at a time.

She was always willing to hop on a call to ensure I stayed accountable and confident in my decisions. That level of support truly set me up for success, and since then, I have continued to grow financially.

I am deeply grateful for her care, her sisterly advice, and the time she has invested in my personal and financial growth. I am in a much better place today because of her, and I truly believe she will continue to transform the lives of many more women like me.
Since then, she has also become my tax strategist, and she has helped me save significantly by carefully and thoughtfully identifying opportunities to reduce my tax burden. I believe she is so effective because she operates from a place of genuine purpose and mission.

Looking back, it brings a smile to my face because of how much my mindset shifted. I had an aha moment when she helped me see my savings differently—as money set aside with a clear vision and purpose, as a future expense.

“My mindset was always ‘I don’t have any money.’ That was it.”

My financial mindset was always, “I don’t have any money.” That was it.
I’m still a work in progress, but it is amazing to work with someone who understands where you’re coming from and can see the future for you—even when you can’t see it yourself.

Our relationship with money is emotional, especially in our community. It’s the breakup of many marriages. Having someone who has the knowledge and experience to tell me that they’ve got me, and will support me every step of the way as I navigate this portion of my life, was a blessing I never expected to happen.

Peace of mind.
Power.
Comfort.
Trust.

“Finance became about people, not money — and that changed everything.”

Before working with Algu Roots, my financial situation was a black box and my mindset was fear‑based. I was paralyzed by what I did not know and didn’t even have the language to begin a discussion about it. I expected financial training to be something unpleasant I would just have to get through.

Tsege’s coaching sessions really began as listening sessions. Since I did not have financial vocabulary, she asked the questions and started by building a framework of who I was. Her understanding that finance is about people and not money was a game changer. In sharing my dreams with her encouragement, I became excited about financial education that would help me realize them.

As a previously financially dependent, single mom who urgently needed to learn decades of foundational knowledge, I needed support from another mama I could trust to see me and understand my priorities. Tsege supported me in translating my emotional goals—ease and peace, freedom and flexibility for me and my daughter—into practical actions and financial behaviors.

Though I thought I knew I was financially stable, there was no sense of security. I had no clarity over my situation and no confidence in my financial resilience through change. Algu Roots provided a financial roadmap to myself, distilled financial concepts into simple, manageable systems, and shifted me away from preoccupation with day‑to‑day decisions into big‑picture planning for our present and future.

There was a moment in the middle of our sessions when I had enough financial competency for more specific questions. When I asked something about optimizing tax advantage, Tsege asked about its alignment with my goals. Her reminder solidified the insight that finance was a tool, not the objective. How immediately she recognized my process and how gently she guided me back on track emotionally on my financial journey stood out from our time together.

For someone seeking support, Algu Roots is less a financial advisor you consult and more a financially savvy friend you converse with. It does not approach finance training in hopes of eventually arriving at peace and empowerment. Algu Roots leads with peace and empowerment and structures financial education around what is most important to your family.
